Keeper of the KingdomKeeper of the Kingdom

Where we walk now there lies only ashes.
What once laid in the cinders and coal
was the beauty of the Isles.
This is the Kingdom of Barkol.

The walls were built to protect
and her cannons were built to serve.
The men were prepared for the worst to come
and the women humbled in their curve.

As the men fought the plague
and the women fed the young,
the King sat smug on his throne
pleasured by the sight of the unsung.

The ships out to sea along the coast
lined their guns to the west; the walls
targeted in clear view over the fields
as the captain's fire was called.

Break from the Pact.Dream unto thee this wish I see

We leave with a full tank of gas,
a mix CD and some clothes.
We drive for four hours, yet seems like ten
and when the rains come, how does it pour.

We ditch the car at the mile marker
after we run out of gas and power.
Then we walk backwards, hands held out
with a lucky road thumb by the hour.

Ride after ride, closer to the coast,
we sit and laugh and joke.
Living the American dream as we saw fit
if not the epitome of our hope.

MuseA silent note from heaven gently falls
On quivering melodies of endless cries,
That whisper pain, and all the chaos lies
In the forgotten void of ruined souls.

And as it fades, it slowly reappears,
Remaking all the songs and all the lives,
Creating a new world in which arrives

A maze of glass, shattered by soulless decay,
That kills all the hope of finding the way,
The sole road on which there's no darkness or doom.

I ceaselessly fight my bitter demise

Cold SymphonyIn red skies of fire, cold symphonies play
For no one's desire of music to hear,
But old notes of death their insanity lay
While breaking and waking in men all their fear.

A shivering wind slowly opens the eyes
Of those that still are and a merciless rain
With violence kills all invisible ties
Of memories lost in the lingering pain.

Yet hope still remains in some innocent hearts,
That glance for a way to escape a cruel fate,
As no one remembers the promise that starts
The battle, when all are for living too late.

Still Agony

On fields of thoughts I dream and lie
And jilted stars swiftly descend
To lowly heights that never end,
While breaking webs of past remain.

But gentle guilts are born again
Of sweet and bitter, cold mistakes
That shiver in torment and aches
Of old, imprisoned stars still shake.

And thus the only stars that make
The light of life, flicker in fear
Then turn grotesque and with a tear,
On fields of thoughts I dream and die.
